My Thoughts: We'll Always Have Summer (Jenny Han)

Belly has only ever been in love with two boys, both with the last name Fisher. And after being with Jeremiah for the last two years, she's almost positive he is her soul mate. Almost. Conrad has not gotten over the mistake he made when he let Belly go even as Jeremiah has always known that Belly is the girl for him. So when Belly and Jeremiah decide to make things forever, Conrad realizes that it's now or never--tell Belly he loves her, or lose her for good. Belly will have to confront her feelings for Jeremiah and Conrad and face a truth she has possibly always known: she will have to break one of their hearts.

My Thoughts:
Oh yeah. That's the stuff.

Belly and Jeremiah are now together, going to college. They plan on getting married, but everyone thinks they are too young are against it. It feels they are rushing in to things, and maybe they are. Maybe Belly is trying to prove something. But she loves Jeremiah. He's the one who's always treated her with respect, makes her laugh, and she can always count on him.
However, things happen that complicate their relationship, but it's not something they can't work thorough. Because they love each other. Belly wants to spend her life with Jeremiah. She's over her love for Conrad who repeatedly has shown that he doesn't care about Belly. But sometimes, no matter how much time goes by, some bonds can never be broken.

There's not much to say. You can't not finish this trilogy. This book is as good as the first 2, and my love for these characters only increased. I've watched Belly, Conrad and Jeremiah grow up and mature. I feel like I know them. And I'll never forget them.

I was highly satisfied with the way this series ended. It was exactly what I wanted, which doesn't happen very often when I read books. It was perfect. And perfect endings are just what's needed sometimes.

Bottom Line: This series is summer and sunshine and beach and freedom. It's first loves and heartbreak and everything in between.  5/5

My Thoughts: It's Not Summer Without You (Jenny Han)

It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come. But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started—at Cousins Beach. (GOODREADS LINK)

My Thoughts:  Please note, this review WILL contain spoilers for The Summer I Turned Pretty.

In The Summer I Turned Pretty, I came to know all the characters and learned that Belly has always had strong feelings for Conrad. She likes Jeremiah too, but the connection she felt with Conrad was incredibly strong. At the end of book 1, we are lead to believe that Conrad and Belly will finally be together. And they were...for a while. Then things went terribly wrong, leaving Belly heart broken and confused.   Conrad becomes distant and doesn't act like himself. This is the first summer Belly will not be spending at Cousins Beach. When Susannah died it changed everything. Belly feels lost. Lost without the beach house, lost without Susannah and lost without Conrad and Jeremiah.

This book is just as good as the first. The characters are growing up and getting older, and with that comes the problems that go along with that.  I continued to be pulled in to the story and felt myself invested in these peoples lives. The tension between Conrad and Belly was heartbreaking. The author wrote them so well that I could feel what Belly was feeling.  Belly ends up spending the summer at the beach house after all and old feelings reemerge, along with some new. The end of this book gives the readers another twist that sets up the next book. To be honest, after reading this book I have no idea who Belly will end up being with in the end, Conrad or Jeremiah. Or maybe neither. OH THE SUSPENSE.

In this book, you get chapters written not only in Belly's point of view, but Conrad and Jeremiah's as well. This was very well done and helped add more depth to the characters that I already love.

Another PERFECT beach read. Those who loved the first book in this trilogy need to pick this one up asap.

My Thoughts: The Summer I Turned Pretty (Jenny Han)

Belly measures her life in summers. Everything good, everything magical happens between the months of June and August. Winters are simply a time to count the weeks until the next summer, a place away from the beach house, away from Susannah, and most importantly, away from Jeremiah and Conrad. They are the boys that Belly has known since her very first summer--they have been her brother figures, her crushes, and everything in between. But one summer, one terrible and wonderful summer, the more everything changes, the more it all ends up just the way it should have been all along. (Goodreads blurb)












My Thoughts:
This is the first book in the Summer trilogy.

So I had this AWESOME review typed up and ready to post. Then it got deleted. There's no way I can write it again. So this one will be short and sweet and not as good.

I loved this book. It was a classic coming-of-age story based around a girl named Belly. Every summer Belly and her mom go to Cousins beach and stay with her mom's friend Susannah and her two boys Conrad and Jeremiah. This summer, however, is different This is the first summer that the boys see Belly as more then just a little sister.  This is the first summer that Belly feels pretty. 

The characters were realistic and easy to imagine and fall in love with. There's first love, first heartbreak, first kiss.  It's  cute and funny and sweet and easy. A quintessential summer read.

I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a good contemporary beach read.
