On My Wishlist (#6)

On My Wishlist is hosted over at Book Chick City. Check out her awesome blog.

Here's a small sampling of books I'm desperately wishing to read.

Beautiful DisasterBeautiful Disaster (Jamie McGuire) (May 26, 2011)
Goodreads Summary:
The new Abby Abernathy is a good girl. She doesn’t drink or swear, and she has the appropriate percentage of cardigans in her wardrobe. Abby believes she has enough distance between her and the darkness of her past, but when she arrives at college with her best friend America, her path to a new beginning is quickly challenged by Eastern University’s Walking One-Night Stand.

Travis Maddox, lean, cut, and covered in tattoos, is exactly what Abby needs—and wants—to avoid. He spends his nights winning money in a floating fight ring, and his days as the charming college co-ed. Intrigued by Abby’s resistance to his charms, Travis tricks her into his daily life with a simple bet. If he loses, he must remain abstinent for a month. If Abby loses, she must live in Travis’ apartment for the same amount of time. Either way, Travis has no idea that he has met his match.

Why I Want It:  Travis Maddox.

Paper, Scissors, Death (Kiki Lowenstein Scrap-n-Craft Mystery, #1)Paper, Scissors, Death (Joanna Campbell Slan) (September 1, 2008)
Goodreads Summary:

Every scrapbook tells a story. Memories of friends, family . . .and murder?
Mousy housewife Kiki Lowenstein has two great loves: scrapbooking and her young daughter, Anya. But her happy family album is ruined when her husband, George, is found naked and dead in a hotel room. As Kiki tracks down George's murderer, she discovers his sordid secret life.

Cruel taunts by George's former flame compel Kiki to spout an unwise threat. When the woman is murdered, Kiki's scissor-sharp words make her the prime suspect. She could be creating scrapbook keepsakes for the rest of her life-behind bars. Supported by her loyal friends, along with a little help (and a lot of stomach flutters) from the dashing Detective Detweiler, can Kiki cut the true killer out of the picture and design a new life for herself and Anya?

Why I Want It: Scrapbooking and murder? Sounds like an awesome combo to me.
Moon Spell: Part One in the Tale of LunarmorteMoon Spell: Part One in the Tale of Lunamorte (Samantha Young) (March 1, 2011)
Goodreads Summary: Existing in the shadows of our world are supernatural races; children blessed by the ancient Greek gods with unimaginable gifts, and at present they are fighting a two thousand year old war with one another. Into this war Caia Ribeiro is born...

Caia has lived a life shrouded in mystery, isolated from her lykan pack and the supernatural world she belongs to. At seventeen years old it comes as a shock to be uprooted from her dull life playing human and plunged back into pack life. Returning to her world is not an easy one. It comes with the threat of the global underworld war, pack politics, and an impossible attraction to her Alpha, Lucien. It is also an extraordinary and addictive world, a place she feels she may actually belong. If only Caia could get past the feeling that Lucien and the pack were keeping secrets from her. Dangerous secrets about her heritage and the war. In the end… unforgiveable secrets.

Forgiven or not, when an old enemy resumes his deadly pursuit of Pack Errante, they will need Caia to come to terms with the truth in order to help save them from their powerful adversary.

Why I Want It: This book sounds awesome. And it's paranormal romance. And it's only 99 cents on the Kindle so it may be In My Mailbox soon!

My Soul to Take (Soul Screamers, #1)My Soul To Take (Rachel Vincent) (August 1, 2009)
Goodreads Summary:
She doesn't see dead people. She senses when someone near her is about to die. And when that happens, a force beyond her control compels her to scream bloody murder. Literally.

Kaylee just wants to enjoy having caught the attention of the hottest guy in school. But a normal date is hard to come by when Nash seems to know more about her need to scream than she does. And when classmates start dropping dead for no apparent reason, only Kaylee knows who'll be next.

Why I Want It: I've read the first book in Rachel's Shifters series and I'm hooked. So of course I need to check out her other stuff.
