E-book woes

So a couple years ago I jumped on the E-reader bandwagon. I knew that I loved actual books and was going to continue to buy them, but I'm always the last person to get any sort of new technology and I wanted an e-reader gosh darnit. After debating back and forth between Kindle and Nook I finally decided on a Kindle with the keyboard.  To be honest, I probably spent the first couple months just playing games on it.  The only books I've bought have all been on sale. I haven't purchased any full-priced e-books because I would rather have the actual book in my hands if I have to pay the same price.  There's lots of positives to owning an e-reader but I just don't like it nearly as much as an actual book. I might read 1 book a month on my Kindle..maybe. BUT i continue to buy e-books that are on sale. It's just so easy and tempting! And then I forget I bought them and there they sit..unread. The other day I made a list to see how many unread e-books I have...and it's not pretty!

I have 88 total e-books on my Kindle. They are a combination of bought, free, gifted, and for review. Let's face it, I don't even remember buying some of them...
Out of those 88 I have read a total of.....42.    That means there's 46 I have yet to read. NOT GOOD.

And here they are in all their glory!

  1. OMG, I loved Everneath! Seriously, I would start with that one and then work your way down. I find that once I start on a good book I keep going.

  2. This is exactly what I don't like about ebooks and why I don't have an ereader! -- if I don't get around to them, they would just be files hidden away on a device. At least with physical books, they go on my shelves and are part of the decoration of my house -- they are treasured objects, not just some digital bytes I can't see unless I log on. My hubby has an ipad and I have downloaded some netgalley books on it, but those are really the only ones I have any interest in reading digitally. Otherwise I'm a total paper book girl!

As for recommendations, I really enjoyed Wicked Lovely. I'm on the fence about the rest of the series, but the first book was really good.

  3. The Name of the Star! That cover makes it look Victorian and gloomy, but it was actually really engaging and surprisingly funny!
