This week's question:

What is the first thing you would do if you woke up to find yourself in your favorite book?

- If I woke up to find myself at Hogwarts, I would immediately go grab Ron and Harry (because of course I'm Hermione in this scenario), head down to breakfast for some pumpkin juice, stop by to say hello to Hagrid and then head to Diagon Alley. After buying a wand from Ollivander, acquiring some skiving snackbox's and extendable ears from Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes and purchasing a nimbus 2013, myself, Ron and Harry would then grab a quick butterbeer at The Three Broomsticks and then head back to Hogwarts to play a friendly game of Quidditch. THEN I would try out Harry's invisibility cloak and get into some shenanigans.  And I would give a sock to Dobby and make sure that STUPID RAT DIDN'T GET AWAY.  ahem.    PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN.

This week's question:

What New Years Blogging or Writing resolution have you placed on yourself?
-This year I resolve to write more reviews and not be so serious about them. I'm in no way trying to be a professional reviewer here. I've accepted I'm not an eloquent writer/speaker/blogger. I make up words and abbreviate a lot and love run-on sentences. I is who I is. And if other people are down with that then yay! If not, that's okay too.

I also resolve to post more then I did last year (which shouldn't be too hard) and research ways to improve my blog.  So that's that!

Follow me and I'll follow you back and I look forward to seeing everyone's answers! If you're an old follower, welcome back and thanks :)

This week's question is:

Do you mind books with similar ideas to other books? Similar concepts, backgrounds, retellings or pulled-to-publish fanfic?

My answer to this would be it depends.  There are LOTS of books out there that have general concepts that are similar. It's up to the author to spin it in their own way. For example: coming-of-age stories. These can get repetitive and boorish but if done right, amazing. It's up to the author to put their own spin on things, make their characters interesting and suck us in with their writing. Take a common theme and make it their own. However, I do NOT want to read about the same worlds over and over. I need variety and imagination and creativity. I don't want the book I'm reading to remind me of another book. I want it to be all its own.

I've read a bunch of retellings, and pretty much all of them thus far have been very disappointing.

Anyways,  follow me and I will follow you back!
I'll be leaving for Charleston, South Carolina this morning (going to YALLFEST on Saturday!!) and will not have computer access until I get back on Monday. So everyone who comments/follows my blog THANK YOU and I PROMISE to follow you back upon my return! !

AND if you have any ideas of some good book retellings please let me know :)
