This week's listy topic:
Top Ten Books I Wish Could Have Had Sequels
The more I thought about this topic and the more I scrolled through all the stand-alone books I've read, the more I realized that I don't want sequels to any of them. They are stand-alone books for a reason and it works. I'm getting tired of reading series. Sometimes I just want one book that's amazing and is going to leave me speechless.
So as not to have a blank list, if I had to pick one stand-alone book to have a sequel (not even a sequel, just a little novella after the end) it would be one that blew me away with the writing, the characters, and the story and that made me feel every emotion on the spectrum. One that I can't get out of my mind and would love one more hit of.
This is one of my top favorite reads of 2013 and one of my favorite contemporary books of all-time.

So that's my list! haha. Leave your linky in the comments if you made one!
At least you are honest about not picking books that don't need a sequel. I had to travel back further in time and pick classics because about all my current reads seem to be series. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteNice! Seeing this one quite a bit!
ReplyDeleteYou make a good point about standalones and not always wanting sequels. I wouldn't mind a sequel though, it doesn't have to be a full blown series, a "duology" would be nice!
I picked a few novellas myself as well as a few other standalones, one series that ended too soon and one standalone that might be a "dulogy" or even more!
Here's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
