So I bought a bunch of books last month which I will be splitting into 2 different hauls. The haul I'm showing today are books I bought at Barnes and Noble/Amazon. Next week's haul will be all the books (ahem 20 cough) that I bought when I went to the Greenvalley Book Fair the weekend of St.Patrick's Day. All the books I bought I used leftover Christmas money and some birthday money. AND 5 of the books I bought were on sale! SCORE.
My friend decided it would be funny to give me this book 12 Shades of Surrender for my birthday. From what I've skimmed, it's 12 short stories and basically written porn as far as I can tell. Meaning, one does not read this book for the story line. Haha. This isn't really my go-to genre so I'm not sure when I'll get to this one.
The Golden Lily (Richelle Mead)- 2nd book in the Bloodlines series. Already read this and loved.
The Indigo Spell (Richelle Mead)- 3rd book in the Bloodlines series. Also already read and loved.
Clockwork Princess (Cassandra Clare) - The 3rd and final book in the Infernal Devices trilogy. READ IT LOVED IT SO MUCH. Everyone should read it! If you'd like you can read my Spoiler-Free Gushing review here.
Hidden (Sophie Jordan) -3rd and final book in the Firelight trilogy.
Loss (Jackie Morse Kessler) - 3rd book in the Riders of the Apocalypse series. Started this one.
Attachments (Rainbow Rowell) - Read this one, really enjoyed it. Her other book Eleanor & Park is AMAZING.
The Secret Garden (Frances Hodgson Burnett) -This is the Barnes & Noble hardback edition and it is GORGEOUS. One of my favorite covers ever.
The Great Gatsby (F.Scott Fitzgerald)
So these are the first 2 classics I have EVER bought voluntarily. One of my personal challenges for this year is to read 5 classics. I figured I'd give these a try, the first because it's a Children's classic and how hard can that be to get through. And the second because it's less then 200 pages. And I love the cover.
Dr. Bird's Advice for Sad Poets (Evan Roskos)
Silver Linings Playbook (Matthew Quick)
Cute how-to illustration books. Let's draw happy people and Let's draw cute animals.
A teach-yourself Reading Music book. I took piano when I was younger for about 9 years. I have since let it go and need a refresher course.
Eating Animals (Jonathan Safran Foer) - I had been wanting to read this book FOREVER. Lucky me I found it in the bargain bin at B&N! I've read about 1/3 of it so far and really enjoying it. It's a non-fiction regarding...eating animals. Or not.
Bridget Jones the Edge of Reason (Helen Fielding)- Also on sale. I've read about 100 pages but have put it down for now. Will come back to eventually. LOVE the movies though.
Okay, that's all the books. I also bought 2 movies from Amazon.
Magic Mike- So I may or may not have seen this one twice in the theater. It's so bad it's good.
The Perks of Being a Wallflower- Loved the book and the movie was a pretty good adaptation.
Well that's it for today. I'll be back next week with another giant haul. If you've read any of these books, I'd love to know your thoughts!
If you posted a book haul, I'd love to check it out. Just leave your link in the comments. :)
