Book Haul! WOOT.

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

Another book haul!?! I know what you're thinking. I just got finished blogging that I'm trying to go the library more and not buy as many books so as not to end up owning books I don't like. Butbutbut. I'm a failure. haha. Really though, I didn't buy THAT many and I can explain!

ON TO THE HAUL!

Siege and Storm (Leigh Bardugo) - I LOVED the first book in the series so it's only natural that I'm going to buy the next book.  Naturally.

Phoenix (Elizabeth Richards) - DANG IT! I waited to order this book when I was half-way through Black City. I was digging it and thought yeah! I'm gonna go ahead an order the next book because I'm half way done with this one, and I really like it so it should be safe to go ahead and order the next book right! It's not like Black City could all of a sudden take a downward spiral into disappointment..right? NO! NOT RIGHT! The last 1/3 of Black City was crap. So yeah. I don't want to read the second book anymore.  Boo hiss.

I realize I've been shit on posting reviews. Like in a LONG time. Another thing I'm a failure at. Butbutbut. I'm thinking about being better at that. Baby steps.

Vegan with a Vengeance (Isa Chandra Moskowitz)

I'm not a vegan, but I am a vegetarian (no to eggs but yes to dairy). However, I am interested in vegan eating as much as I can and this cookbook looked like a winner!

LAST BUT NOT LEAST MY MOST COVETED of purchases.....

The Song of Ice & Fire series (George R. R. Martin) BOX Set!! WOOT!  Includes A Game of Thrones, A Feast for Crows, A Storm of Swords and A Clash of Kings! The television show is my absolute favorite! I'm embarking on a buddy read with my..well buddy and will be starting the first book shortly.  Hellz to the yeah.  The beast shall be conquered!

See now? That's all. Not so bad.  Although I'm already thinking about stopping by Books-a-million...ONLY to look at the bargain section.. Yeah..the bargain section..

Book Haul!!

This here's a book haul!

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.

The first 3 books I bought through Amazon the beginning of May. I've actually already read them. Dark Triumph was AMAZING!! LOVEDLOVED it. Better than Grave Mercy. The other 2 weren't as good as the first in the series. (My picture taking skills are pretty crappy today.)

Sweet Peril (Missy Higgins)  - The first book in the series is Sweet Evil
A Beautiful Evil (Kelly Keaton) -The first book in the series is Darkness Becomes Her
Dark Triumph (Robin LaFevers) - The first book in the series is Grave Mercy

The next couple books I bought for VERY CHEAP at the library sale they had today:

Shift (Rachel Vincent)- I own this whole series on my Kindle and have read them all. One of my favorite series! I want to collect them all in hard copy form.
My Soul to Take (Rachel Vincent)
Rebel Angels (Libba Bray)
Breathless (Dean Koontz)
I think I paid $3.00 for all of them together.

The last group of books I checked out from the library. I forgot how amazing the library is. I want to get away from owning books I don't love. So my solution is to use the library more. If I read a book and end up loving it, I will just then purchase a copy for my collection.

Love and Other Perishable Items (Laura Buzo)
The Other Normals (Ned Vizzini)
Invisibility (Andrea Cremer & David Levithan)
The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Douglas Adams)
A Great and Terrible Beauty (Libba Bray)
The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (Sherman Alexie)
The Madman's Daughter (Megan Shepherd)
Friends with Boys (Faith Erin Hicks) - Graphic Novel
Notorious Nineteen (Janet Evanovich) - I WILL read this series until the end of time. I just can't help it.
Blankets (Craig Thompson) - Graphic Novel
A Game of Thrones Graphic Novel vol. 1

OOPSIES. I totally forgot I bought two  cheap books for my Kindle! I always forget about those.

The Song of AchillesSweet Thing

That's it for now.
I'll be posting my May wrap-up tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by :)

Giant Book Haul: Green Valley Book Fair Edition

Stacking the Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews.  In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren.

I have blogged about the Green Valley Book Fair in the past. It's this awesome book fair held in Mt. Crawford, Virginia 6 times a year for 2 weeks at a time. It's hosted in a 3 room giant warehouse where they sell thousands of books of ALL genres for CHEAP. I'm talking most books are like 2-6 dollars depending on if it's a hardback or paperback.  I think they buy them from like overstock.  Their young adult section in particular is FANTASTIC.  I usually go once or twice a year.  It's very  much worth it if you plan to buy more then a couple books. It's a 2 hour drive from where I live, but SO WORTH IT. This time, they actually had some newer titles stocked, which were a little more expensive, but still way cheaper then you could ever buy in a store or online. They don't sell freshly published books but they do have major titles, such as Mortal Instruments, John Green, Sarah Dessen, etc. EVERY GENRE. Children's books, fiction, nonfiction, classics, manga, self-help, audiobooks, cookbooks, and on and on and on.

I went the weekend of St. Patrick's Day and ended up buying 18 books for myself (which is much better then the 50 I bought when I went for a visit last year). I made sure to control myself this time around. Yes, 18 books is controlling myself.

If I  had paid retail value for all the books I bought, it would have cost me $279.80.
With the sale, I paid only $109.00 for all 18 books!!  WHAT A SAVINGS! haha.

NOW. ONTO THE HAUL!

My haul boxed up.

2 copies of The Book of Awesome (Nel Pasricha)
The Reptile Room, or Murder! (Lemony Snicket)
Virals (Kathy Reichs)
Hush, Hush (Becca Fitzpatrick)
Ten Miles Past Normal (Frances O'Roark Dowell)

Don't Turn Around (Michelle Gagnon)
A Temptation of Angels (Michelle Zink)
Girl of Nightmares (Kendare Blake)
A Midsummer's Nightmare (Kody Keplinger)

Endlessly (Kiersten White)
Cryer's Cross (Lisa McMann)
For Darkness Shows the Stars (Diane Peterfreund)
The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls (Claire Legrand)

A Monster Calls (Patrick Ness)
The Poison Diaries

Audiobook of Dragon's Oath, A House of Night Novella.  I know. I know. This series. I just can't help myself..

DUDES! You never know what you  might find at a book fair. I was casually just flipping through this graphic-like book and BAM! HOLLY BLACK'S SIGNATURE. This is the third book and I have no idea what it's even about, and I didn't like Holly Black's White Cat series, but I bought it anyways because it's signed. What the f is wrong with me. Now I have to find the first 2... :)

AND that's it for me!

If you've read any of these books, I'd love to know your thoughts, good OR bad!
If you have a haul, I NEEDS to see it, so link up in the comments :)

Thanks for visiting!
