March Recap

March is over. It was my lowest month with posting so far. I just got in an exhaustive funk.  Trying to claw my way out day by day.

The first book I read in March was Cinder by Melissa Meyer.  I bought this book because of all the hype it was getting and people were just LOVING it SO much. I broke one of my own rules - don't give in to the hype! Or at least hype it out at the library! Dang it. The premise sounded really intriguing - a Cinderella re-telling but with cyborgs? YES! Let's just say it took me 7 whole days to get through and I was left disappointed. I'll get around to posting a review hopefully sometime. But the point of me typing this is to say that book, the first read of the month, put me in a giant reading slump. I didn't read anything else for a while, but then I slowly climbed out of that funk as well. However, that means I didn't read as many books this month as I wanted.

Recap time!

Books read:

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)Attachments: A NovelPushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)
Bloodlines (Bloodlines, #1)The Golden Lily (Bloodlines, #2)The Indigo Spell (Bloodlines, #3)
Clockwork Princess (The Infernal Devices, #3)

1. Cinder (Marissa Meyer) 3/5
-This one left me VERY disappointed. I could not connect with the characters AT ALL. Boo.
2. Attachments (Rainbow Rowell) 4/5
-I LOVED her other book Eleanor & Park, and this one was cute and funny, though I didn't love it as much. But I will read anything this author writes in the future.
3. Pushing the Limits (Katie McGarry) 3.75/5
-One big lump of cliche goodness. The main boy got to be a bit irritating with his overusage of baby and nymph. But I had no trouble getting through this one.
4. Bloodlines (Richelle Mead) 4/5
-excellent start to this companion series
5. The Golden Lily (Richelle Mead) 4.5/5
-started to REALLY like Sydney, and ADRIAN!! getting good!
6. The Indigo Spell (Richelle Mead) 4.5/5
-HOOKED! LOVED! Only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because I couldn't betray my love for Vampire Academy
7. CLOCKWORK PRINCESS (Cassandra Clare) 10/5
-LOVEDLOVEDLOVEDSOFREAKINGAWESOME! ahem.

I hope to get back to more regular posting this month and being better at returning comments sooner. Some people may be getting return comments from me from like a month ago...oopsies. I read every comment though and they make my day!

So Sunday I started reading Rootless by Chris Howard. The premise sounded good and love the cover. I read about halfway through and was NOT connecting with the characters or the dialect. So I put that one aside and starting reading Bridget Jones Edge of Reason. I read about 100 pages, and it's okay, funny. I love the movies. But I think they spoiled me and so I wasn't really feeling the book. So I put that one aside. I started feeling slumpish...so I turned to an author I KNEW wasn't going to let me down.
